Kojürö is partnered with a cop named Higurashi who is investigating the whereabouts of Masamune. They approach Yoshiaki who initially refuses to tell them anything, but is persuaded by Higurashi to tell what she knows. Their investigation soon leads to a fishing village where Masamune is presumed to have died after being chased by a policeman and falling into the ocean...
